The Telugu Desam is planning to take out a massive procession in Tirupathi in protest against the alleged corruption reported in the temple town.
There are allegations of corruption, missing jewellery, misuse of power by the priests and politicians in the TTD. The TD wants to march to the top of the hill from Alipiri at the foot of the hill to mount pressure on the State government.
Earlier this month, the Praja Rajyam Party chief and local MLA, K Chiranjeevi, had conducted a similar programme and he had walked all the way from the foot of the hill to the top.
This time, the TD plans to do the same and make its chief, N Chandrababu Naidu, too to participate. The programme is likely to be held either on August 4 of 5, sources said.
Naidu, who is now busy with the Babli project row, had asked the party leaders to set their eyes on the TTD corruption. The leaders, including Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu are raising voice against the TTD Board and they are insisting on removal of the present Board.
